WSU requires a term GPA of at least 3.75. WSU calls this the President's Honor Roll rather than a Dean's List. You qualify with a 3.75 GPA across at least 9 graded credits in a single semester, or a 3.50 cumulative GPA across at least 15 graded WSU credits.
Good academic standing
You need a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 to stay in good academic standing. Both your semester and cumulative WSU GPA need to stay at 2.00 or above. Dropping below either for the first time puts you on academic notice; a semester GPA under 1.00 in your first term triggers suspension, and a cumulative below 2.00 for three semesters leads to dismissal.
Repeating a course
If you retake a course you earned a C− or below in, only your most recent grade counts toward your GPA and total credits. Repeating a course more than once needs special permission. Separately, if you return after four or more years away with a GPA under 2.00, WSU's Fresh Start policy restores credit for courses you passed with a C or better once you complete 12 new WSU credits at a 2.00 GPA.
Pass/fail grades and your GPA
Undergraduates can take up to 21 credits pass/fail. A Pass does not affect your GPA, but an F earned in a pass/fail course does count against it.
