GPA Calculator by University
Pick your school to calculate your GPA using its specific grading scale.
Why your school needs its own calculator
A generic GPA calculator assumes every institution converts letter grades the same way. They do not, and the differences are large enough to change what your transcript says.
The most common split is between the .3/.7 convention, where an A− is worth 3.7, and the thirds convention, where it is 3.67. Three hundredths per course sounds negligible; across twenty A− courses it is 74.0 quality points against 73.4 — enough to land on the wrong side of a 3.7 honours cutoff.
Beyond that, real policies among the 93 schools below include:
- Whole-letter scales with no plus or minus grades at all, so a B+ and a B are both worth 3.0.
- Quarter-point increments, where an A− is 3.75 and a B+ is 3.25.
- Half-step letters such as AB and BC, worth 3.5 and 2.5, in place of plus/minus grades.
- A+ handling that varies three ways — capped at 4.0, worth 4.33, or not awarded at all.
- Failing grades marked E rather than F, which changes nothing mathematically but confuses students transferring in.
Each page below is preloaded with its school's own scale, so the number you get is the number your registrar would calculate.
How this data is verified
Every scale on this site was checked against the school's official registrar or academic catalogue rather than copied from another calculator site. That process corrected roughly thirty schools whose scales we had initially recorded from secondary sources — including several where a widely repeated A+ = 4.3 turned out not to be awarded at all.
Where a school publishes academic policy detail — Latin honours thresholds, Dean's List minimums, grade forgiveness rules — that appears on its page with a link to the source and the date it was checked. Our methodology page sets out the standard in full, and if you spot something out of date we would rather hear about it than leave it wrong.
Compare scales side by side
If you want to see how the 11 distinct grading scales in this dataset differ — or check which schools share yours — the grading scales comparison lists every school with its scale type and what an A+ is worth. For a school not listed here, the general GPA calculator lets you pick a scale manually.
