Mizzou sets no university-wide Dean's List threshold — each school and college sets its own. The Discovery Center, for exploratory students, requires a semester GPA of 3.25 or better over 12 graded hours plus a 3.0 cumulative, while other colleges differ, so check with your college.
Good academic standing
You need a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 to stay in good academic standing. You are in good standing with a term and cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. A term GPA below 2.0 places you on Academic Notice, even in your first semester.
Repeating a course
Under MU's Course Repeat Policy, a first attempt graded C−, D+, D, D−, F, or WF is replaced by your second-attempt grade in your GPA, though grades from a third or later attempt still count fully. No more than 15 semester hours total can be removed this way, and grades of C or better cannot be repeated for replacement.
Pass/fail grades and your GPA
The S/U option lets you take one course per semester this way, with a C− or better converting to S at full credit and no GPA impact. S-graded credits can make up no more than 20% of your degree, and first-semester freshmen and students on probation are not eligible.
